The Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry invites authors to submit original cover art alongside their manuscripts, selecting standout designs to feature on the issue in which the research appears. I designed this stylized, editorial-inspired illustration to accompany the manuscript “Structural Characterization of Natural and Synthetic Macrocycles Using Charge-Transfer Dissociation Mass Spectrometry.” My goal was to visually communicate the fragmentation process through a playful yet conceptually accurate lens—balancing abstract forms, simplified molecular structures, and an energetic composition. The piece was selected for publication and featured as the cover design for Volume 33, Issue 4 (April 2022).

“Drinking Buddy” poster design for WellWVU at West Virginia University
While working at WELLWVU, I developed this poster as part of a campus-wide alcohol and drug education campaign. Designed to be clear, quick, and actionable for students passing by in high-traffic spaces, the concept used clean visuals and minimal copy to communicate the harm-reduction message at a glance.

“What’s at the end of your drink?” poster design for WellWVU at West Virginia University
As part of WELLWVU’s 2018 alcohol education initiative, I conceptualized and designed this poster to address “blackout” drinking behavior in a way that would catch students’ attention and spark reflection. Using type as visual metaphor, the piece illustrates how drinking outcomes can shift from social to dangerous. This design was part of a campus-wide campaign aimed at harm reduction through bold, approachable creative.
